Space Apps Challenge 2020

With two old college classmates I participated in the Space Apps 2020 Challenge. We created a solution for the Hey! What are you looking at? challenge. We received honorable mention in the Alabama A&M section.

You can see this project hosters here. The code can be found here. We faced challenges with speed of loading for the data, but you are able to enter a date and it will pull the images the Swift mission generated for that date.

In this project, I specifically worked on learning the VO interface to the HEASARC data. I had to learn a lot about the FITS format, as well as how to use PyVO and AstroPy to pull these images.
